Sofar Sounds creates one-of-a-kind shows in unique spaces, and has got an eye for undiscovered talent. Artists such as Andra Day, Leon Bridges, Tones and I, Yebba, Lianne La Havas, Hozier, Lauv, Olivia Dean, and FINNEAS have all taken to a Sofar floor before the rest of the world discovered them.
All we can tell you about this event is that it’s happening in Clapham, south east London. Don’t worry, we know exactly where we’ll be going, but we just can’t tell you because the venue is a secret until 36 hours before the event. We don’t know who’s performing, so we’re just as excited as you about that! All the details will be revealed to guests in an email.
What we can tell you is that Sofar Sounds is genius at transforming everyday spaces into captivating venues for unforgettable live music performances. We know this because we attended their Fringe Festival in Shoreditch last year, where we served Pad Thai from a restaurant space at 83 Rivington Street. Our staff were able to experience some of the performances taking place in various spaces nestled under the railway arches, and still talk about them to this day. When it comes to creating special moments and memorable experiences, Sofar Sounds is one of the best in the business. We’re honoured that they’ve chosen to work with us again to cater for their guests at this event.
In 2009, a guy called Rafe Offer invited some friends over to a London flat. Eight people sat on a living room floor, enjoying a drink and an intimate gig. This is where Sofar Sounds started, but it’s now a global community of artists and audiences coming together in intimate venues for immersive experiences in 400+ cities. around the world. If the secrecy surrounding this event, the lure of Pad Thai, and the thought of discovering the next big artist isn’t enticing enough, we think the most amazing thing about Sofar Sounds is that despite their global reach, their humble beginnings are tangible in every gig.
